Bangladesh star all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan is all set to play for Brampton Wolves in the upcoming edition of Global T20 Canada.

The 2019 Global T20 Canada is scheduled to be the second edition of the Global T20 Canada, a Twenty20 cricket tournament played in Brampton, Ontario. The auction for that edition was concluded in Canada on Thursday, May 20.

Shakib Al Hasan had been picked by Brampton Wolves in the auction. The ace all-rounder is the first Bangladesh player who will be a part of the Global T20 Canada this year. Shakib has been in great form recently in the World Cup as he’s the second highest run-scorer till now in ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2019.

There will be six teams in the tournament like the previous edition. But a new team named New York Legends were announced to replace Cricket West Indies B Team. But the idea was later cancelled and the Brampton Wolves were named as the sixth franchise team in June 2019 where Shakib will be played in the second edition.

Except Shakib Al Hasan, there will be much other superstars of World Cricket. Some other superstars are- Shahid Afridi, Colin Munro, Lendl Simmons, Faf du Plessis, Kane Williamson, Brendon McCullum, Kieron Pollard, Yuvraj Singh, Trent Boult, Chris Gayle, Andre Russell, Dwayne Bravo, Chris Lynn, Shoaib Malik etc. There will be some experienced coaches too including Phil Simmons, Stephan Fleming, Tom Moody etc. Phil Simmons named as the coach of Shakib’s Brampton Wolves.

The six franchises are- Brampton Wolves, Edmonton Royals, Montreal Tigers, Toronto Nationals, Vancouver Knights and Winnipeg Hawks. Vancouver Knights are the defending champions.

The tournament is scheduled to start on 25 July 2019 and conclude on 11 August 2019. It is slightly later in the calendar than the previous tournament, to avoid clashing with the 2019 Cricket World Cup.  There will be total 22 matches played throughout the tournament.
