Shakib Al Hasan, had earlier played for Barbados Tridents, in the 2013 inaugural Season of the CPL. His performance was well praised, and included a record figure of 6 for 6. Even if he was retained by Barbados Tridents to play 2014 season, his season had ended already before it could start, as he was banned from playing all internationals for six months and other international domestic leagues for 18 months. One of the few reasons for the ban, which eventually was lifted after three months, was also Shakib Al Hasan’s arrival at the West Indies to play the CPL, with an expired No Objection Certificate (NOC).
