'My hand condition is getting better everyday' says Shakib

‘N9ine’ who work as Shakib’s agent, confirmed bdcrictime about the latest update by saying,

“Although Shakib was scheduled to fly to Dhaka today with her daughter, he has changed the decision considering current situation of the team.”

Bangladesh started off their Asia Cup 2018 mission with a comfortable win against Sri Lanka in the tournament opener. However, the team has been going through several problems since that match. The first choice opener of the side, Tamim Iqbal sustained an injury during the match and now he has to stay out of cricket for a long period thus, wouldn’t be available in Bangladesh’s next matches in the ongoing tournament.

On the other hand, Mushfiqur Rahim was the key player in Bangladesh’s victory against Sri Lanka also likely to the miss the next game as he is suffering from back injury and needs some rest at the moment. So if Shakib Al Hasan also joins the unavailable player’s list ahead of the Afghanistan match, Bangladesh would be in big trouble considering Afghanistan’s recent performance.

Therefore, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) requested Shakib to reconsider his decision and then Shakib has changed his mind.

It is to be noted, Shakib AL Hasan’s little daughter Alayna Hasan Aubrey fell ill while staying in a Dubai hotel with her parents.  Shakib, therefore, decided to fly her back to her home.

Earlier on yesterday, ‘N9nine’ informed bdcrictime that the all-rounder was returning to Dhaka with his family on Tuesday night.  “Shakib’s daughter Alayna became sick in Dubai As a result, Shakib Al Hasan will return to Dhaka with his family on Tuesday night. He is expected to join with the team again on the 19th or 20th of September.”
