Shakib disappointed with Bangladesh’s bowling performance

After brilliant performances in the first two matches of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019, Bangladesh lost the third game miserably by a huge margin of 106 runs. After putting England to bat first, poor performance by the Bangladeshi bowlers allowed the hosts to post a mountain total of 386 runs in the scoreboard.Shakib disappointed with Bangladesh's bowling performance

Meanwhile, Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan expressed disappointment over the team’s poor bowling performance as well as the overall result. “Yes, disappointed with the results, or the manner we actually bowled,” Shakib said at the post-match media conference on Saturday (June 8).

Bangladesh’s bowling performance in the first two games against South Africa and New Zealand was very economical. But they saw the opposite of the coin in the third game. “I thought we bowled really, really well against South Africa and against New Zealand,” he added.

However, Shakib also praised England’s brilliant performance, especially Jason Roy who smashed a tornado century at the top of the order. “But you know, obviously England played brilliantly. Credit goes to their batsman. The way their openers started, and the way [Jos] Buttler finished the innings was, you know, the turning point of the match I think,” he said.

While talking about England’s batting performance Shakib further added, “That’s been their pattern for the last two, three years, by building up to this World Cup. So they are not changing in this World Cup the way their approach was going for the last two, three years. So we knew that it’s always going to be tough for us.”
