Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan who is currently ranked number one in all three formats of the game, has been showing his consistency in the ICC all-rounder rankings since 2008.

Although Shakib sometimes losses his number one position, he doesn’t take much time to retain his place. As a result he has been creating new history and taking himself to higher level each day.

The 30-year old cricketer often has been compared to the likes of Imran Khan, Kapil Dev, Ian Botham or Richard Hadlee. And with his five wickets in the second innings, he also became only the second bowler to pick up a ten-wicket haul in 50th Test match after Richard Hadlee.

The allrounder, though, was quick to brush aside statement that he is one of the greats of the game. “I don’t think it that way,” Shakib said pointing out that he has still a long way to go

He added, “Because my job is to contribute with both bat and ball that is what I try to do. It feels great to make some contribution behind this success and it [this feeling] always remains the crucial factor that keeps pushing me forward.”
