Shakib explains reason behind defeat

Bangladesh lost the first T20I against Windies in the first game of the three-match series. Depending on Andre Russell’s 35 off just 21 balls, the hosts chased down the winning target with seven wickets in hand and 11 balls to spare. Earlier, the 144-run target in 20 overs given by Bangladesh was reduced to 11 overs due to rain and the new target was 91 runs. [নিউজটি বাংলায় পড়ুনঃ সাকিবের চোখে পরাজয়ের কারণ]

Shakib explains reason behind defeat

It was clearly noticeable that total was posted by Bangladesh in the score was not enough to defend against the Caribbeans as they have so many power hitters in the team. Bangladesh had a poor start losing both their openers for a duck. Although Shakib and Litton added 38 runs in the third wicket stand, they lost two more quick wickets afterwards.

Meanwhile, Bangladesh skipper Shakib Al Hasan also admitted losing early wickets made it difficult for them to post a big total. “I think we lost early wickets, that was one problem. We never got the momentum that we needed. We lost 5 wickets in 10 overs and it gets really difficult to comeback from there,” Shakib said in the post-match presentation ceremony.

However, Shakib is hopeful to come back stronger and do better in the rest two games of the series by taking positive from the defeat. He concluded, “They got some quality T20 batsmen and we have to be at our best to counter them. Two more games left to be played and we will look to take the positives from this game and come back stronger in the next.”
