Shakib likely to get NOC to play in UAE T20x
BCB’s cricket operations chairman Akram Khan said on Tuesday that all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan will get the NOC from the board if they don’t find any issue in the medical report.
Earlier this month, Shakib asked for the NOC to play in UAE’s new T20 league named T20x which is set to take place on this December. The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) are yet to take a decision on this matter. However, Akram has confirmed that the board won’t stop him if they don’t see any problem in the medical report.
“There will be a medical report regarding Shakib. If there is no problem in it, and it seems to be positive, we will give him the NOC. Probably he cannot have an operation in one year time, while at present there is no pain [in his finger] If he is medically fit, he can play [UAE T20x].”
Shakib is currently in a rehabilitation program for his injured finger that forced him out of action for three months. The injury turned out to a major injury and it ruled him out in the Asia Cup and also the Zimbabwe series. He is also likely to miss the upcoming home series against Windies.
UAE T20x will begin on 19th December and it will clash with Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) and Australia’s Big Bash League (BBL). The sixth edition of BPL is expected to begin on 5th January, 2019 where Shakib will be playing for Dhaka Dynamites once again.
