15-man Bangladesh Test squad has been announced for the tour of South Africa in September-October. World no.1 all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan has been rested for this series. Shakib has been granted rest for the series although he can play the second Test if he wants. He scored 84 in the first innings against Australia in Dhaka and took ten wickets in the same match.
Nasir Hossain has been omitted from the squad just after playing a series against Australia. Bangladesh have picked five pacers in the squad with the inclusion of Subashis Roy and Rubel Hossain.
Imrul Kayes and Soumya Sarkar, who have been going through bad forms, still remain in the squad. Mosaddek Hossain has been left out for this series as well as he will be sent to Bangkok on Monday for his eye treatment.
The first Test between South Africa and Bangladesh will begin from September 28 at Senwes Park, Potchefstroom. Bloemfontein’s Manguang Oval will host the second Test from October 6. The Tigers will play a three-day warm-up game against Cricket South Africa Invitation XI at Willowmoore Park, Benoni on September 21-23.
