Bangladesh T20I captain Shakib Al Hasan has been ruled out of the Nidahas Trophy Tri-Nation competition in Sri Lanka as he is still nursing an injury to his left hand sustained in the final of the ODI tri-series against Sri Lanka in January this year.
In Shakib’s absence, Mahmudullah Riyad will lead the side in the T20I tournament which also features India and the hosts Sri Lanka. Shakib has been replaced in the squad by batsman Litton Kumar Das.
Shakib injured his finger while fielding during the final of the tri-nation series against Sri Lanka. He couldn’t take part in the rest of the match and the injury turned out to a big blow for Bangladesh and for Shakib himself.
The number one all-rounder also missed the Sri Lanka Test and T20I series where Bangladesh suffered series defeat in both the occasions.
