Day after tomorrow, he will be up for a spin-duel with Ashwin. He is well aware that the battle is going to be a tough one on the Indian soil. But he, Shakib Al Hasan is least bothered about such duel. Instead, he is focused on contributing to his team & their game plan. [Read in Bangla: বদলে যাওয়া বাংলাদেশে ভয় অশ্বিনের]
“It’s not just my challenge, but for all.” said the best all-rounder of Bangladesh Cricket on last Sunday. “Suppose, you put up 250 on the board & thereafter conduct finely successful spells, then that 250 will seem to be a good total to you. On the other case, poor bowling can make you feel even 500 on the board is a low one. A team can establish the ultimate required mark, while each & every members of the unit put up strong individual contributions.
A team’s result can never always stay biased only on a single department of the match. In the last series against New Zealand we batted well someday & bowled well on some occasions, but failed to deliver the complete combo.” As Ashwin stands as the spin spearhead of the Indian bowling attack, similarly Shakib is so on behalf of Bangladesh.
Although of different approaches, but both of them almost hold the same playing role for their respective teams. Denying of the rivalry mode, Shakib continues, “There is no rivalry between us. Not on my behalf at least, & I don’t think that it will be from Ashwin’s side either. Actually, none of us take it on that note. His complete concentration is on his own role & so is also mine. The better I perform, the more helpful I will be to my team.”
He further continues, “Ashwin has been successfully delivering his team job very well for the past 2-3 years. His controlling ability & the self-confidence are the actual factors to make him uniquely good among the rest & also the best.” Shakib is praiseful about Ashwin.
On the other hand, Mehedi Hasan Miraz expresses his wish to collect some tips from Ashwin. Before leaving for India, Miraz said that he will have a post-match sit & chat session with Ashwin & would seek some bowling tips. He would also keep a close eye on Ashwin during the match, following his strategical tactics. Miraz believes that this would be worthy to his own account.
So, the conclusion says that neither an open challenge nor a direct rivalry is being thrown at the Indian spin spearhead. Perhaps, a red carpet full of appreciation is being spread to the fore for him by the visiting guests from the other side of the Padma River.
