Shakib taking proper preparations to attend MCC World Cricket Committee meeting

Shakib Al Hasan, escorted Bangladesh to numerous glories in the field of cricket, told he is preparing himself well to deliver some effectiveness off the field now, in the forthcoming meeting of MCC World Cricket Committee.

“I don’t want to be just a spectator in the meeting. I want to be active all the time I will be in the committee and contribute. I’m getting prepared for that. What is the benefit of being a member of the committee if I could not do or say anything to make a difference,” Shakib Al Hasan.

The MCC World Cricket Committee with its four new members including star Bangladeshi all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan will seat for the first time on 9th and 10th of January, 2018 in Sydney.

“They have sent agendas of the meeting; a whole lot of papers. I’m going through those and fixing what I will say in the meeting and give a final touch during the long flight to Sydney,” he said.

Former English captain Mike Getting will chair the meeting. The other members of the committee are Rodney Marsh, Sourav Ganguly, Ricky Ponting, Brendon McCullum, Kumar Sangakkara, Tim May and Ramiz Raza.

Besides Shakib Al Hasan, Kiwi female cricketer Suzie Bates, former cricketer turned commentator Ian Bishop, umpire Kumar Dharmasena are other newly appointed members of the committee.

The committee, formed back in 2016, discuss about present and future conditions relating to cricket and form suggestions which will later be subjected to discussion and approval of the International Cricket Council before implementing.
