Shakib-Tamim expected to return against Windies

While talking to the press at BCB on Tuesday, Akram said, “Hopefully we will get them in as early as the West Indies series. Maybe not from the beginning, but it could be during the series.”

Bangladesh are currently busy in the ongoing series against Zimbabwe. They have already handed the visitors a 3-0 whitewash in the ODI series, and the two-match Test series will come to an end on November 15.

On exactly that day, the Windies team will land on Dhaka to play two Tests, three ODIs and three T20Is from November 22 to December 22.

Shakib is interested to take part in the UAE T20x in December, and he has requested the BCB to approve him of the No Objection Certificate (NoC). If his fitness reports come positive, BCB too will be positive to let him play, informed the former Bangladesh skipper Akram.

“We will give him NOC if his (Shakib) reports come positive. He will not be able to have a surgery within a year and is not complaining of pain at the moment. He will be able to play if he is fit,” he said.

Shakib in his NOC request has asked for a leave from December 23-January 1.
