Shakib, Tamim in PSL replacement draft
A replacement draft will be held next week as the PSL (Pakistan Super League) T20 is set to resume in June.
Several top cricketers will be unavailable during the second phase of PSL 2021 which was postponed midway due to coronavirus outbreak inside the bio-bubble.
The next draft, which includes 132 overseas players, will be held at a virtual conference, sources revealed.
Bangladesh’s Shakib Al Hasan, Tamim Iqbal are placed among the top-tier categories. Shakib and his IPL teammate Andre Russell, the West Indian all-rounder, are in the Platinum category. The category also includes Evin Lewis and Martin Guptill.
Tamim, who was a replacement player for Lahore Qalandars in 2020, is in the Diamond category with Morne Morkel, Adam Milne, James Faulkner and Usman Khawaja.
Liton Das, Taskin Ahmed and Sabbir Rahman are listed in the Silver category. The Gold category has Keemo Paul, Niroshan Dickwella and Dinesh Chandimal.
The players playing the IPL will be able to join respective squads after the tournament ends. The Pakistan Cricket Board has made week-long quarantine mandatory, starting from May 22.
Bangladesh have a home ODI series (part of World Cup Super League) slotted against Sri Lanka which is due to begin around mid-May.
The remaining fixtures of PSL will be played from June 1 to 20 in Karachi.
