Shakib to return Bangladesh on August 31

Former Bangladesh skipper Shakib Al Hasan is all set to depart for Bangladesh from the USA, he currently staying. The all rounder will join the Bangladesh side in the tour to Sri Lanka next month as his tenure for the rehabilitation period from imposed ban will end soon. Hence the countdown started to see the star on the field once again.

Shakib to depart for Bangladesh on August 31

Shakib is currently staying in USA in his in- laws house. He went to the country after the Coronavirus pandemic started in Bangladesh. With a view to practising for the Sri Lanka series, the all rounder will depart for Bangladesh on August 31. A reliable source from Shakib confirmed BDCricTime about his departure. He will join the team as soon as his ban discloses. But Before that he will practice intensively in the country’s sports complex.

Shakib will practice intensively ahead of the post-ban cricket to resume after a one year rehabilitation period. With the intensive care, he prepared himself before that World Cup and he was one of the heroes of the last World Cup. Though the team performance in England was not satisfactory, Shakib was brilliant in terms of individual performance.

Bangladesh is scheduled to play a three match test series against Sri Lanka in October-November period as part of the ICC Test Championship. Shakib will prepare himself in BKSP as he has prohibition to return on cricket before his tenure ends. With a view to practising for the series, Shakib will step on Dhaka on August 31 after transiting on an Emirates Airlines flight to Dubai, accronding to a reliable source.

Meanwhile, The ICC imposed a two-year ban on Shakib Al Hasan for violating the ICC’s anti corruption code of conduct. He was suspended for 2 years for failing to inform the Anti-Corruption Department about a text message related to match-fixing from a blacklisted bookie Deepak Agarwal. Later on his punishment was reduced to one year after he confessed his guilt. Shakib’s ban will end on October 29.
