Shami replaces Pandya in the ICC World XI squad

The International Cricket Council’s (ICC) World XI will play the Twenty20 game against West Indies on 31st May at Lord’s. England’s wrist-spinner Adil Rashid has been added to the squad and Mohammed Shami replaced Hardik Pandya in the squad.

Adil Rashid is the second England player to be included in the World XI squad after Eoin Morgan was named as the captain. He has bagged 23 wickets in the 28 T20 International games that he played.

The Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya who is suffering from viral fever, has been pulled out for the T20 game. Hardik Pandya was replaced by Mohammed Shami and he will join Dinesh Karthik as the second Indian player in the side. Mohammed Shami has played 7 T20 International games and picked up 8 wickets.

The World XI squad includes one player each from Bangladesh, Nepal, Afghanistan and Sri Lanka and two players each from Pakistan and New Zealand. The star players like Shahid Afridi, Rashid Khan, Sandeep Lamichhane also features in the ICC World XI squad.
