Shamsur scores hundred on bowlers’ day
A balanced battle between bat and bowl was witnessed during the first day between Dhaka Metro and Sylhet Division in the National Cricket League (NCL).
Sylhet started off well after putting Dhaka Metro to bat first. Enamul Haque jnr picked up the first wicket and it was the opener Azmir Ahmed, who dismissed for 10.
Rakin Ahmed looked solid in the crease but missed his well-deserved fifty for only 2 runs courtesy of a great delivery from Enamul once again. He then also went up to pick the wicket of skipper Marshal Ayub.
However, Shamsur Rahman stood tall against the Sylhet bowlers as he scored a comprehensive hundred. Al-Amin also supported him well with his 85-ball 69.
Rejaur Rahman broke the partnership as he removed Al-Amin and then ran down the middle-order to pick three wickets more. Shamsur was also the victim of Rejaur as he departed for 114.
Dhaka Metro finished the day with 282 runs with the loss of 7 wickets. Sharifullah remained not out on 21* while Nihaduzzaman came just before the end of day’s play.
Dhaka Metro 282/7 (76 ov) | Shamsur 114, Al-Amin 69 | Rejaur 4/49, Enamul 3/69
