Shastri takes a dig on Yuvraj as senior-junior battle


With no Cricket in the field, cricketers are passing a time doing nothing. As part of useless time passing, the cricketers and cricket officials are very much active on social media, regarding various issues . While cricket fans are celebrating the 37th anniversary of India’s maiden World Cup win in 1983, India head coach Ravi Shastri and former India all-rounder Yuvraj Singh engaged in their ‘senior-junior’ battle over a social media post.

Former Indian all-rounder Yuvraj, heaped praised on the 1983 squad, which was led by Kapil Dev. They won against the mighty West Indies at the Lord’s Cricket Ground. Yuvraj wished the World Cup-winning team for winning the cup and termed it as the ‘a moment of national pride’. But over the post  of Shastri, Yuvraj engaged in battle of words after a hard feelings.

” Many Congratulations Guys! Something you will cherish all your life. Just like we from the 1983 group #WorldCup2011 – @sachin_rt @imVkohli,” Shastri had  tweeted.”

Yuvraj got hard feelings over the fact that he and MS Dhoni were ignored and told Shastri that he could have tagged both of them too as they were also part of the winning squad.

“Thanks senior! U can tag me and Mahi also we were also part of it,” Yuvraj had replied taking a dig at Shastri.

The current India head coach commented on the post drawing a series of hilarious reaction on Twitter from fans.

Therefore, it has started as the senior junior battle in Tweeter. Both Shastri and Yuvraj have now a acquisition regarding the post. It is assuming that the battle of words might continue to be seen if they continued upto September 24, when India celebrates 13th anniversary of the 2007 World Cup victory.
