Due to a sudden spike in coronavirus cases across the country and with the second wave of the virus has turned from bad to worse, an e-pass is important to travel within the state, which is in lockdown. Meanwhile, Shaw pleaded with the cops in Amboli to allow him to go but was not permitted to do so.

Eventually, the Indian youngster applied for an e-pass from his phone and he finally got the clearance to leave for Goa in an hour. Meanwhile, Shaw was not called up to the Indian Test squad for England tour. The right-handed batsman was in sensational form in the IPL 2021 where he scored 308 runs to his name in 8 games but still, the Indian selectors did not consider him for the 6 Tests in the United Kingdom.

India will play the ICC World Test Championship final in Southampton, England and after that, they will lock horns with England in the five-match Test series. After BCCI announced the Indian Test squad, a report claimed that Shaw had been asked to shed a few kilos if he wanted to make a comeback to the national team.

Meanwhile, the BCCI will field a second-string team for the limited-overs series against Sri Lanka in July. Both teams will play 3 ODIs and 3 T20Is. If Shaw works on his fitness and reduces weight, he will likely be a part of the Indian squad.
