The Indian opener Shikhar Dhawan had a decent outing in the 11th season of IPL. He played 16 games and accumulated 497 runs for Sunrisers Hyderabad. Dhawan smashed an unbeaten knock of 92 but it was overshadowed by Rishabh Pant’s unbeaten 128 in a league game.
After the conclusion of Indian Premier League, he is recovering him for the national duties. In an interview with Cricbuzz, he was heard talking about his favorite player in the modern day cricket. The Indian opener did not waste a time to take the name of AB de Villiers.
“AB de Villiers. He’s a great batsman and more than that he’s a gem of a person too. A great leader. I have learnt a lot of things by just watching him. I’m happy that I played against him,” Shikhar Dhawan said.
Sunrisers Hyderabad lost David Warner before the tournament began and then Kane Williamson took up the responsibility. Under the new captain, SRH reached the IPL finals and lost to Chennai Super Kings. Dhawan talked about their performances in the recently concluded IPL.
“It was good. We lost our captain (David Warner) before the tournament began. Then Kane Williamson came along and he had a wonderful season. He’s a good captain. I had a good season too. We played in the final, though the result didn’t go our way. Overall, we played good cricket and enjoyed the season,” Dhawan added.
