Sky Sports makes three-year contract with IPL
Sky Sports has regained the broadcasting rights of the Indian Premier League after they made a three year deal with the mega franchise league authority.
All sixty matches will be telecast live in Sky Sports this year. Sky Sports broadcast the tournament from 2015 to 2018.
General Manager of Sky Sports Rob Webster said, “The LIVE IPL is a truly spectacular competition and one that catches you from start to finish. The tournament features the best T20 players in the world, all playing in front of thousands of passionate fans in All India.
“Sky Sports’ cricket coverage – still trying to catch its breath from a stunning 2019 – goes from strength to strength for the year ahead.
“We’re thrilled to add the VIVO IPL to an already busy cricketing calendar for 2020 joining events such as the ICC Men’s and Women’s T20 World Cup’s from Australia,” he said.
This year, as many as 13 English cricketers including mega stars like Ben Stokes, Jos Buttler are participating in the 13th edition of the competition.
In the previous edition of the tournament, Mumbai Indians lifted the trophy for the fourth time with a dramatic one run win over the Chennai Super Kings in Hyderabad.
