Smith wants more Test series against Bangladesh

Smith wants to fix the trouble of batting collapse before Ashes

After a wait of 11 long years since Australia’s tour to Bangladesh in 2006 where the visitors whitewashed the Habibul Bashar led side, Tigers recently have played a Test series against Australia.

Both the sides won one match each in the two-match Test series as Bangladesh registered their first ever Test victory against the Kangaroos in the first game while the visitors came back brilliantly in the last game to level the series 1-1.

Now after such competitive performance, Australia skipper Steve Smith believes contesting Tests more often between the two sides would be great in near future.

“It’d be good to play against Bangladesh in future. Tests after 11 years is a long time. I think the way they played over here was exceptional. They obviously beat us in the first Test and challenged us again out here. If we get another opportunity to play against them, that’d be great,” he said.

The Steve Smith led side were under pressure ahead of the second Test. If Australia had lost the series 2-0 then they would have dropped to sixth position in the ICC Test ranking.
