On Sunday 29th July, her team Western Storm took on Loughborough Lightning in a rain affected game. The game was forced to be a six over game. Mandana scored her fifty in just 18 balls equaling the record for the fastest fifty in Women cricket with Sophie Devine.

Sophie Devine made this record previously in 2015 against India in Bengaluru.

Mandana remained not out with 52 runs from 19 balls. Another interesting thing of her record is that her partner in this record was playing in the opposite team. Sophie Divine scored 46 runs in 21 balls. But she was unable to take her team to victory as Western storm won the match by 18 runs.

The 22-year left handed opener had played 42 T20Is matches for India and she scored 857 runs including five fifties so far. She played 41 ODIs scoring 1464 runs with an average of 37 including three centuries and eleven half centuries.

With her new record now in both men and women cricket, Indians top the table for the record of fastest fifty in T20Is as Yuvraj Singh is leading the men’s table with his 12 ball fifty against England in inaugural T20I world cup

Match Summary:
Western Storm 85/2(6) Mandana 5*
Loughborough Lightning 67/0(6) Divine 46*
