Sohag Gazi examined well enough
Bangladeshi rising spinner Sohag Gazi has been examined in the Cardiff Metropolitan University Laboratory for his suspected bowling action. Former cricketer and Coach Shahidul Islam who is accompanying Sohag in the tour informed last night about the situation, “The most important part of the examination is to bowl as closely as possible to the match situation so that the examiner can understand properly. He who has taken the test said that Sohag was very close to the match situation which is a very positive sign. But it is not possible to say the ultimate decisions. But it can be hoped that something positive will come out in the end. Sohag has done well and he is confident after the examination.”
As per rules the result is released within two weeks of the examination. But the lab authority informed Shahidul Islam that ICC will reveal the result within 20 days. Sohag can continue his play within this time although he has already been withdrawn from the squad of the Asian games.
It is noted that after sending Sohag all alone in the journey, BCB later requested former coach and cricketer Shahidul Islam who is now living in London to accompany Sohag in Australia. Shahidul is the former coach of BCB and Malaysian Cricket Association and is now working as the development manager of London Capital Kids Cricket.
