Jaffer saw Akbar Ali, Shahadat Hossain from very close when he worked in Mirpur.

“Akbar Ali was very active when India were batting. Akbar gave the team a great lead in the final. He had led the Under-14 and Under-16 teams of Bangladesh. Akbar has the experience of leading such an age-based team for many days. As a result, as long as he continues his captaincy, he will improve,”

Jaffer said.

This team of young cricketers have been together for almost two years, playing together. The mutual understanding and friendship between them is very strong.

“Some of the players of this team have practiced under me.  Many have played together in age-based tournaments. As a result, good understanding has been created between the team. The on-field game is a reflection of that. That’s why they have beaten most of the team at this stage. India were the favorites in the final. But in the final, Bangladesh has shown brilliance,” Wasim Jaffer said.
