Soumya-Miraz to tour Sri Lanka with ‘A’ team


Bangladesh national team opener Soumya Sarkar is all set to travel to Sri Lanka with ‘A’ team, scheduled to fly to Colombo on 18th of September. Soumya has become the last minute inclusion in the team.

Miraz could be threat for Zimbabwe

Chief Selector Minhajul Abedin Nannu informed that several other national team performers including Mehedi Hasan Miraz and Mominul Haque has also been included in the ‘A’ team for the tour.

Among others opener Sadman Islam and pacer bowler Ebadot Hossain are also travelling. National team outcast cricketers Anamul Haque Bijoy, Nurul Hasan Shohan and left hander spinner Sunjamul Islam also accompanied others.

Saif Hasan and Nazmul Hossain Shanto will join with the ‘A’ team in Sri Lanka after completing Tri-nation series in India.

While talking to Bangladesh press, Minhajul Abedin Nannu told, “From the High Performance Unit, we have taken Nazmul Hossain Shanto to play in the national team. The competition will come to an end on 24th of this month. Before that, the first four day match in Sri Lanka will take place from September 23 to 26. Shanto will not be able to appear in that match because of the that.”

He further said, “Saif is leading the Under-23 team in India. We have decided in the last minute to bring Saif back from India and to play him in the four day match against Sri Lanka. The last four day match against Sri Lanka ‘A’ will start from 30th September. Before that, the five match one day series (19, 21, 23, 25 and 27th of September) against India Under-23 team will be completed. Saif will join with the ‘A’ team after the end of the series.”
