South Africa Emerging rattled for 92, Bangladesh seal series
Bangladesh Emerging Women have taken an unassailable 3-0 lead in the five-match series against South Africa Emerging Women’s team. The hosts dominated in the third ODI to take a six-wicket win in Sylhet.
Opting to bat first, South Africa Emerging had a disastrous day as they were rattled for 92 runs in 33.3 overs, which their Bangladeshi counterparts surpassed with 132 balls remaining.
Bangladesh Emerging were without their pace bowling spearhead Jahanara Alam, but Nahida Akter, Ritu Moni and Rabeya Khan – who all took three wickets each – proved to strong for the visitors.
Rabeya played her first game in the series. She was awarded player of the match for her three wickets fot 15 runs in four overs. She dismissed the tail-enders while Anneke Bosch was standing at the other end.
Bosch was sent for 30 off 49 by Ritu as the final wicket of the innings.
Michaela Andrews sent back Sharmin Sultana (3) early but the target was too little to defend. The other opener Murshida Khatun paved the way making 46 runs from 71 deliveries with seven boundaries.
With the series already decided, the last two ODIs will be played on April 11 and 13.
