South Zone bag fourth BCL title
Prime Bank South Zone have sealed nine-wicket victory against BCB North Zone in the final round to clinch their fourth Bangladesh Cricket League title.
South Zone skipper Abdur Razzak bagged 12 wickets (7/69 & 5/75) in the match while Anamul Haque hit 180 runs in the first innings. Al-Amin jnr also made a century, scoring 128 runs. South Zone posted 541 in reply to North Zone’s 293 in the first innings.
North Zone were bowled out for 280 runs on day four which set South Zone a target of just 33 runs. The Souths eventually got to the target with nine wickets in hand. Razzak was named Player of the Match for his 12 wickets.

In the same round, Bangladesh’s Test members Mominul Haque, Imrul Kayes, Taijul Islam and Nayeem Hasan starred for Ilsami Bank East Zone in their 321-run win against Walton Central Zone in Sylhet. Imrul and Mominul made 78 and 82 respectively in East Zone’s first innings in which they made 425. Taijul bagged 6/92 to restrict the Centrals to 244.
Mominul (100) and Yasir Ali (101*) came up with hundreds in East’s second innings (254/3d). Nayeem took career-best 8 for 47 as Central Zone were bowled out for 134 runs in the second innings. Nayeem grabbed a 10-wicket haul in the match.
