Defending champion Dhaka Dynamited inaugurated their Dhaka stage of the tournament with a big win against table topper Sylhet Sixers. At the Sher – e – Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka, Dynamites have out shined Sixers by 8 wickets.
Shahid Afridi and Evin Lewis started blasting every bowl Sylhet Sixers’ bowlers’ bowled out of the park. Afridi, with his usual charishmatic power hitting, knocked 5 sixes in 37 run innings manufactured in just 17 deliveries.
Tim Bresnan ruffled things a little for a while picking back to back wickets that of Afridi and Delport, the hat-trick ball was successfully defended by Dynamites’ icon Shakib Al Hasan.
With 2 fours and a single shot of six, Shakib Al Hasan is unbeaten scoring 18 runs in 11 balls.
Star studded Dhaka Dynamites sparkled having Shahid Khan Afridi in the team, the Pakistani super star performed worth to his name in world cricket in the first match he played in the fifth edition of the Bangladesh Premier League.

Dhaka Dynamites’ skipper Shakib Al Hasan won the toss and sent Sylhet Sixers to bat first. The formidable team of the first round of the tournament crumbled against Afridi and Narine bowling from both ends, bundled out ultimately at a below par score.
Sri Lankan opener Upul Tharanga who hit three half centuries out of the four innings in the Sylhet phase of this season’s BPL, initiated the breakdown for the Sixers in this match.
Tharanga was the first man to depart caught by Jahurul Islam off Abu Hider Rony; he scored a single run today playing 2 deliveries.
One down batsman Sabbir Rahman followed him in the next over, became the victim of Narine. The Caribbean all-rounder scalped 300th T20 wicket in this match.
