Sri Lanka Cricket unveil ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 jersey

Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) have unveiled their ICC World Cup 2019 jersey as the one-time world champions are set to create some remarkable incidents at the World Cup starting May 30 in England and Wales.

The Sri Lankan jersey picked for the WC highlights turtle-like figures rather than the more commonplace lion while the hues incorporate light yellow and blue other than their unique dark blue shed. A special feature of the jersey was the utilization of recycled ocean plastic, waste plastic recovered from the beaches of Sri Lanka. Through this initiative, MAS & SLC intend to promote the responsible consumption of plastic to save marine species and their habitats.

Sri Lanka Cricket names Kent RO as ‘Principal Sponsor’ and MAS Holdings as ‘Clothing Sponsor’ for ICC World Cup 2019. MAS Holdings, one of Sri Lanka’s largest apparel manufacturers, unveiled the jersey of the Sri Lankan team on Friday May 3. The ceremony had occurred at the Taj Samudra Hotel in Colombo at the evening.

Sri Lanka had been in poor form in One-Day internationals recently. They were whitewashed against South Africa in their last five match ODI series and continued their poor form which started after the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015.

Sri Lanka will play two-match ODI series against Scotland in the middle of this month before the start of the World Cup. And they will begin their World Cup campaign with two warm-up matches against South Africa and Australia on May 24 and May 27.

Sri Lanka will play their first World Cup round-robin match against New Zealand on June 1 at Cardiff.

June 1: New Zealand vs Sri Lanka, Cardiff

June 7: Pakistan vs Sri Lanka, Bristol

June 11: Bangladesh vs Sri Lanka, Bristol

June 15: Sri Lanka v Australia, The Oval

June 21: England vs Sri Lanka, Leeds

June 28: Sri Lanka vs South Africa, Chester- le- Street

July 1: Sri Lanka vs West Indies, Chester- le- Street

July 6: Sri Lanka vs India, Leeds
