Sri Lanka sack selectors after horrendous performance in ongoing Test series
Sri Lanka, who are on verge of being whitewashed in the three-match Test series against England have sacked their selectors on Sunday.
Chasing 327 runs, the hosts Sri Lanka have lost 4 wickets with only 53 runs in the third day of the Test match. And it didn’t take too long for the board to sack the selectors who were only appointed in June this year.
Sri Lanka’s Sports Minister Faiszer Musthapa released a statement on Sunday where he thanked the selection panel for their services.
Meanwhile, they have already appointed the new selection panel where Asantha De Mel has been named as the chairman and he will be backed by the former players Brendon Kuruppu, Hemantha Wickramaratne and Chaminda Mendis.

Former Test player de Mel’s first mission will be to announce the squad for New Zealand series where they will play two Tests, three one day internationals and a T20 game.
While on the other side, England are over the moon and possibly some hours away from registering their first ever whitewash in Sri Lanka. And Jos Buttler is hopeful that the visitors will clinch the win tomorrow.
“We have to turn up tomorrow with the same plans we have had all trip: stay patient. Hopefully we’ll drive it home,” he said.
