Bangladesh looked to be aggressive. Mominul Haque lost his wicket soon after the lunch as he outside-edged Rangana Herath. He left scoring 47-ball 33. Liton Das (12) and skipper Mahmudullah Riyad (6) didn’t stay too long at the crease as debutant Akila Dananjaya struck.

The hosts were still in hopes when Mushfiqur Rahim was at the crease. But middle-order’s most dependable batsman was stumped off Herath. He scored 25 off 51 with 4 fours.

Sabbir Rahman’s poor run continued as he was dismissed for 1 to Dananjaya on his second ball he faced. Dananjaya took his fifth wicket by sending back Mehidy Hasan Miraz.

Bangladesh tail-enders gave their wickets away in no time. Sri Lanka bowled them out for 129 runs in 29.3 overs. Dananjaya picked up his maiden five-for, 5 for 24. Veteran Herath scalped 4 for 49.

A total of 681 runs have been scored in this match for 40 wickets. It’s the second-lowest match aggregate in Bangladesh vs Sri Lanka Test matches.
