Sri Lanka U-19 player with a bowling action like Paul Adams

Former South African spinner Paul Adams is still remembered in the cricket world for his unusual bowling action and a latest sensation has come to the International cricket who ‘s bowling action is like him.

Sri Lanka U-19 player Kevin Koththigoda who is playing in the Youth Asia Cup in Malaysia has a bowling action as same as like Paul.

He took 1 wicket in the in Sri Lanka’s win over Afghanistan in the Youth Asia Cup. Former Sri Lanka ‘A’ opener Dhammika Sudarshana nurtured him at Richmond College, Galle’s leading school that has produced several Test cricketers. 

Sudarshana told Cricbuzz: “He has a very unusual action. It’s like that of Paul Adams. The action wasn’t coached or anything, it came naturally to him. Initially, he was struggling with the length as he couldn’t see the pitch, but he has improved tremendously.”

He added: “Since his action is unique, the batsmen get confused. He is an excellent fielder and a decent batsman. He has got a very bright future ahead of him.”

Sri Lanka have a good history of producing great spinners like Muralitharan and mystery spinners like Ajantha Mendis. Koththigoda can be the next big thing for Sri Lanka if nurtured properly.
