Sri Lankan sports minister Harin Fernando is all set to put the new cricket constitution in Parliament on Monday.
“It will be tabled before the Parliament”, the hon. minister, speaking exclusively over telephone from Colombo, said on Sunday.
The new constitution is a brain child of few former cricketers, including Sidath Wettimuny, Roshan Mahanama, Mahela Jayawardene and Kumar Sangakkara.
The new Cricket Constitution carries several suggestions to improve the betterment of game in the country.
“It can’t be implemented directly. When the Parliament is involved, it becomes a law”, he further added.
These cricketers are likely to be involved in Sri Lanka Cricket sooner than later.
