Steve Smith pips Virat Kohli with 26th Test century
Australia’s best batsman Steve Smith showed the world that he capable of chipping in with magnificent milestones. Smith’s supreme effect of destruction was again witnessed in the Ashes 2019 as he smashed his third hundred of the series in the 4th Test match against England at Old Trafford, Manchester on Thursday.
Smith has scored 26 Test hundreds in just 67 Tests while Virat Kohli has taken 79 Tests to score 25 hundreds.
Currently, Steve Smith is at the joint-19th position alongside legendary Gary Sobers on the list of most centuries in Tests. India’s Sachin Tendulkar tops the list with 51 Test hundreds.
Meanwhile, Steve Smith also surpassed Mark Waugh to the third spot for the most number of centuries in Ashes. Smith has 11 hundreds from just 26 Ashes Tests, one less than England’s Jack Hobbs and 8 less than batting legend, Sir Don Bradman.

Smith has now scored 6 centuries in his last 12 innings against England, well and truly dominating the Ashes battle in the recent past.
