Sachin had played six ODI World Cups in his career. He had the taste of being a champion in his last World Cup. And after that, the teammates wagged him at the Wankhede Stadium.

That picture ranks in the top five of the best moments of the game in two decades in ‘Laureus Best Sporting Moment of the Year’.  Yuvraj Singh and Virat Kohli have asked their fans to vote for Sachin. A few days ago, Yuvraj wrote on Twitter, “That world cup moment was truly special, let’s get the great man another victory.”

In reply of Yuvraj, Sachin wrote on Twitter: “Yuvi, this moment is for team India and every Indian around the world. The 2011 cricket World Cup win is etched in my mind like it just happened yesterday. Still get goosebumps thinking about that night.”

Virat himself wrote on Twitter, “A friend, teammate, mentor and icon. Let’s all come together and vote for Sachin paaji for the Laureus Sporting Moment 2000-2020.”

“It is definitely a moment to remember Virat! Glad to have a teammate & friend like you to cherish it with. Thank you for your support,” Sachin wrote in reply.
