Storm in CSA during first Test against Bangladesh, CEO resignsIn the first Test, Bangladesh have been fighting hard to stop the wheel of runs of Dean Elgar and Aiden Markram. Meanwhile a massive change has taken place in the higher authority of Cricket South Africa (CSA).

Some internal issue caused a storm leaving Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of CSA Haroon Lorgat resigned.

Haroon Lorgat has had a huge contribution to CSA. But the exact reason of his resignation is still unknown. But it is assumed that the upcoming Global T20 league which is expected to be started at the end of this year is the prime cause of the dispute.

CSA President Chris Nenzani assured of the CEO’s resign in an official statement. He said, “Recently we have arranged several meetings and we wished to improve his relation with the board. But we failed. We didn’t get the result as we expected.”

Such statement by the President clearly reflects the clash of Haroon with the board. In recent times the clashes between this experienced cricket organizer and the board were clearly seen.

But this sudden resign of Haroon Lorgat couldn’t stop the activities of board. By this time Vice President of board Thabang More has been posted in his post though he will stay there as acting chief executive.

Haroon Lorgat was born in 26th May, 1960 in Port Elizabeth. He is a citizen of South Africa, a Chartared Accountant in profession and a renowned businessman there. Though he is originated from India, he contributed a lot for CSA. He also worked as CEO of ICC previously.
