Story behind Mashrafe’s sudden retirement.

The news came as a big surprise for millions of Bangladesh Cricket Team fans from all over the world who were excitedly waiting to see something special from the Tigers in the first twenty/20 against the host in Sri Lanka after a memorable test series followed by a competitive One Day series.

But soon as the toss was done Mashrafe informed about his decision publicly along with his facebook page. Since then there is concern all over the nation realizing this could never be a simple decision instead there is a big mystery as the captain recently expressed his thought to media about rebuilding his Twenty/20 team as strong as his One day side before he retires. So what happened all of a sudden that forced him to step down in such short notice?

It is learned from bdnews24.com that Tiger coach Chandika Haturasingha feels that there is no necessity of senior players in the shortest format of the cricket and he has informed this to Bangladesh Cricket Board- BCB during the New Zealand tour. But the news was revealed by the media. Cricketers who make into the axe list of the coach were- Mashrafe, Mushfiq and even Tamim who is the highest run-getter in the format for Bangladesh.

The sources from BCB has confirmed that the Board had asked Mashrafe to reconsider about his Twenty/20 career soon he reached Sri Lanka. There was no need to think twice about what the board meant indicating reconsider was actually to rethink about his retirement which he recently denied about any possibility before the tour.

Due to which the Narail Express had to undergo alot of pressure during the one day series but he said to his family and close friends that he will keep fighting till the last moment he can. But this was not something which impressed the coach who at the end of the One day series once again knocked BCB to talk with Mashrafe about his decision.

After which the BCB chaiman Mr. Nazmul Hasan himself had a meeting with the four most senior cricketers, bdnews.com has confirmed about this meeting. In which BCB chairman made it clear that they are planning to introduce three different captains in each formats of the game.

It was then Mashrafe decided to step down as he came to know that the boss of the BCB is also supporting this campaign of coach. And he informed his family the next day about his decision to retire from twenty/20.

His retirement is undoubtfully the beginning of the system of coach Chandika Haturasingha to remove the senior cricketers from the twenty/20 team of Bangladesh Cricket team.
