Suhrawadi Shuvo’s father passes away

Bangladesh cricketer Suhrawadi Shuvo’s father Abdur Rashid Babu passed away on Saturday at Rangpur Medical College. He died of a heart attack at 5:10 am. Suhrawadi himself confirmed the news on his official Facebook page.

Suhrawadi ‘s father was the president of Rangpur Press Club. He was also the journalist of daily newspaper ‘Bhorer Dak’ and the treasurer of Jummapara Karimia Madrasha. Janaza will be held on the premises of Jummapara Karimia Nurul Ulum Madrasha after Asr today and burial will be held at Munshipara Koborsthan, cemetery in Rangpur.

His father was 68 years old at the time of his death. The death of his father has cast a shadow of mourning among journalists in Rangpur.

Alongside Suhrawadi, Abdur Rashid Babu was the father of two daughters.

Suhrawadi’s teammate Rubel Hossain sent out the condolence message for the veteran spinner on his official Facebook page.

The 32-year old Suhrawadi has played 1 Test, 1 T20I and 17 ODIs for Bangladesh. He has taken 4 wickets in the only Test and 14 wickets in ODIs. The left-arm spinner made his international cricket debut in 2010 against England in Dhaka.

The last few days have been sad for the cricket world as Indian cricketers- Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Piyush Chawla, Chetan Sakariya also lost their father due to Covid-19 and other cases.
