Sujon in charge of ‘Team Leader’ for Bangladesh in Sri Lanka tour
Khaled Mahmud Sujon is going to work with Bangladesh national team after a long time. The former cricketer is looking forward to the job with the team.
Sujon was not around the national team for a long time. Despite working with the national team, he has been the victim of widespread criticism. However, after a long time, he will be seen working with the national team again. In the past, he was the manager of the national team. Later in every series, Jalal Yunus or Akram Khan has been given the responsibility.
Jalal Yunus, chairman of the media committee, was in charge of the team leader in the recently concluded New Zealand series. However, Sujon will be in charge of the team in the upcoming Test series against Sri Lanka. He wants to fulfill all the responsibilities as a team leader.
“Nothing to feel, this is the responsibility. In the last series, Jalal Bhai [Jalal Yunus] served the responsibility, they’re tinkering with everyone. The board may have a place of trust in us. I have been given the responsibility in the Sri Lanka series even though I said ‘no’. Even then, when the board or the president (Nazmul Hassan Papon) says, I have nothing to say.
“Of course I am excited to work with the Bangladesh team again. We have a very important series against Sri Lanka. The joy of winning a Test match is different. Maybe in Test cricket we are far behind. So whenever a Test match comes up think about how to do better. I will not play on the field. Even then I will try to help as much as I can as a manager, as I have done before. Although I didn’t work with Domingo [Russell Domingo]. Let’s see what happens.”
Bangladesh will fly to Sri Lanka a few days later to play their last two matches in the ICC Test Championship. The series between the two teams will be played at the scheduled time on April 21.
