Sunny, Liton top performers in DPL
National discarded spinner Arafat Sunny has become the highest wicket-taker in the recently concluded Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League (DPL) 2016/17. Playing for the runners-up Prime Doleshwar Sporting Club, Sunny has taken 36 wickets in just 16 matches. Besides, another national discarded Liton Das has become the highest run-scorer of the season, scoring 752 runs in 14 matches.
Among the 16 matches Sunny played this season, he remained wicketless only in one match, while his best figures are 6-56. Sunny’s closest contender was Abu Haider Rony of Abahani Limited, who ended with 35 wickets in 15 matches. Rony didn’t grab any wickets in the last match of his team, having bowled only four overs.
