Sunrisers scroll slender win despite Fizz magic
In defiance of winding magic of Mustafizur Rahman, Billy Stanlake not only survived from trajectory but also led Sunrisers Hyderabad to seal a stunning victory against Mumbai Indians at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad tonight.
Ben Cutting off to Billy Stanlake into the last delivery of the twentieth over, he had just lofted the slower delivery over the mid-wicket region for a crooked four – all he could watch the euphoric Sunrisers in the side bench running towards him, it’s a metabolic win of 1 wicket at last.
Thus Mumbai Indians lost their second consecutive match in contrast to Sunrisers Hyderabad’s second straight win in the eleventh edition of the Indian Premier League.
The SRH had to chase not so a big total of 147 runs after decided to send Mumbai Indians to bat first. The proceedings were fairly well for the Sunrisers at home ground with Wriddhiman Saha and Shikhar Dhawan delivered a 62 run opening partnership in 6.5 overs.
Both Wriddhiman and Shikhar looked fairly well in their deliverance – seemed the target lesser than it was before Markande trapped Wriddhiman at his personal score of 22 runs.
Shikhar approached further before becoming the second victim of Markande in one over after. Shikhar, therefore, became the highest scorer of the innings with 45 runs in 28 balls, striking 8 fours and no sixes.
The departure of both openers were followed by two more wicket falling for Sunrisers, left them little startling midway through the innings when Shakib Al Hasan struck with Deepak Hooda to cross the team total the hundred run mark.
The prolific Bangladesh all-rounder produced a run a ball 12 runs with one shot of four but Markande hit once again, picked Shakib by a straight delivery.
Once again Sunrisers Hyderabad’s innings collapsed down the order – Mustafizur, doing the penultimate over of the innings, strike twice, claimed Siddharth Kaul and Sandeep Sharma in the midst of three deliveries.
Hooda remained there, unbeaten scoring 32 runs in 25 balls, hit crucial six in the last over before Cutting finished things off.
