Table-toppers Rangpur Riders cruise to comfortable victory

Rangpur Riders have kept their first position intact as they secure yet another victory, this time against Rajshahi Kings in match number 36 of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL).

The arrival of former South Africa captain AB de Villiers has turned into a blessing for Rangpur. The team is winning one after another and de Villiers contributing big in almost every game.

After winning the toss, Rajshahi Kings opted to bat first. It was a poor start as they lost both the openers early. Mominul Haque (2) failed to contribute once again while Laurie Evans (35) departed after being well-set.

Farhad Reza was the pick of the bowler, who picked up three wickets. Nazmul Islam and Shahidul Islam also chipped in and picked up two wickets each. The table-toppers restricted Rajshahi to 141 runs in the end.

De villiers also kept his good form going and also took Rangpur over the line with his 27-ball 37. The departure of de Villiers cause Rangpur some hiccups. However in the end, Mithun (4*) and Nahidul (11*) guided the side to a comfortable win by six wickets.
