Tagenarine, Hetmyer named to face Bangladesh in warm-up

Shimron Hetmyer, Alzarri Joseph and Shivnarine’s son Tagenarine Chanderpaul have been named in 12-man Windies President’s XI squad to take on Bangladesh in two-day warm-up match in Antigua. [নিউজটি বাংলায় পড়ুনঃ টাইগারদের বিপক্ষে অনুশীলন ম্যাচের উইন্ডিজ দল ঘোষণা]

The practice match will start on June 28 at Stanford Cricket Ground, Coolidge, Antigua.

Shamarh Brooks will lead the President’s XI against the Bangladeshis. The squad includes three Windies internationals – Hetmyer, Joseph and Vishaul Singh.

Joseph has recovered from stress fracture which he sustained during New Zealand tour. He missed the home series against Sri Lanka, whom the Windies played three Tests and drew 1-1.

The practice game between Bangladesh and Windies President’s XI will start at 10:00 am local time (8:00 pm Bangladesh Standard Time).

Bangladesh have already named 15-man squad to face Windies which includes new-comer Abu Jayed Rahi and rookies Nurul Hasan Sohan and Nazmul Hossain Shanto. Shakib Al Hasan will be restarting his stint as Bangladesh’s Test captain.

Team Tigers have reached Antigua this week with their newly named head coach Steve Rhodes.

The first Test will be from July 4 at Sir Vivian Richards Cricket Stadium in North Sound, Antigua. The second Test will be from July 14 at Sabina Park, Kingston.
