Tamim gets new team in T10 League

In continuation of last year, the second season of cricket’s newest format T10 League is going to be held this year. With the participation of 8 years, the tournament will roll onto the ground from November 23, where Bangladesh’s hard-hitter batsman Tamim Iqbal is set to perform for new participants Bengal Tigers.

Though he played for Pakhtuns last year, this time Tamim has been roped in by Bengal Tigers. This is why the Bangladeshi left-hand opener will get a new destination in this season of the 10-team tournament. 

Bengal Tigers authority have confirmed the news of recruting Tamim on Monday. Ahead of the commencement of the second season, the jersey unveiling ceremony of the team took place today (Wednesday). Tamim, regarded as the best opener ever to have played for Bangladesh, was present at the program.

Tamim for Bengal Tigers

The league has a duration of just 90 minutes for every match like football games. In the previous season, Tamim played a total of three matches. Apart from striking a fifty on his debut, he racked up 81 runs overall. He stands 12th in the ranking of highest run-getters of all-time in this format. He has the best knock of unbeaten 56 runs.

The last season featured only six teams, but this year three new teams have been added on the list. But then again, the team from Sri Lanka withdrew from the competition, which makes it an affair of 8 teams now. Because of the increase in team numbers, this season will be longer as well.

The tournament will run for 10 days, from November 23 to December 2, in accordance with the round robin format.
