Tamim Iqbal breaks his own seasonal record

At the end of a very successful season for team Bangladesh, records and statistics are to be counted on now. Starting the season against Afghanistan back in September, Bangladesh has accomplished the journey successfully against Sri Lanka in April, 2017.

Flamboyant Bangladesh opening batsman Tamim Iqbal Khan broke his own record in this season. Playing 23 international matches, Tamim scored 1145 runs consisting of three centuries and six half centuries which is the highest for any Bangladeshi batsman in a season.

The previous record was also made by Tamim Iqbal. In 2009-2010 season, Tamim scored 1082 runs in 21 international encounters.

Ace all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan is sitting just behind Tamim Iqbal in scoring runs. Playing 24 international matches this season, Shakib scored 1139 runs with two centuries and six half centuries. Shakib also 49 wickets in his tally this season.

Tamim Iqbal is the highest run scorer for Bangladesh in Test and one day internationals for Bangladesh.

His Test run is 3677 while in one day matches, Tamim scored 5251 runs. Shakib Al Hasan is the highest scorer in T20Is with 1028 runs.
