For the next edition of Pakistan Super League (PSL), four Bangladeshi players have been picked after the tournament’s draft event took place on Sunday.
The four players are Shakib Al Hasan, Tamim Iqbal, Mahmudullah Riyad and Mustafizur Rahman. In the first edition of PSL, Tamim Shakib and Mushfiqur played.
Though, Mushfiqur didn’t get chance to play in the second edition but two new players Mahmudullah and Anamul Haque Bijoy got chance to play.
Mustafizur was also picked up but he couldn’t play the tournament in the end due to injury. Shakib played for Peshawar Zalmi in the last season. He was picked up by the franchise before the draft.
The same happened with Mahmudullah who plays for Quetta Gladiators. That’s why Mustafizur and Tamim got value in the draft. Though Tamim was released to draft, his team Peshawar have again picked him which means Shakib and Tamim will play for the same team again.
On the other side, Lahore Qalanders picked up the young sensation Mustafizur. This will be his first season in the PSL.
Shakib, Tamim, Mahmudullah and Mustafizur all are diamond category players. In this category, a player’s value is 70 thousand US Dollar which is 57 lakh in Bangladeshi taka. The tournament will begin next year in February.
