According to medical science this sort of injury takes at least seven days to ten days to recover. So Bangladesh may have to start the first test of the series against South Africa without Tamim. This injury at this particular time puts Bangladesh under a bit pressure.
Earlier he got his injury while taking a rushing single after fourth over of the practice three days’ match. He retired from batting for injury and immediately was taken under observation.
Tamim said over phone earlier in last morning, “I am still in a doubt about the degree of injury. So I am hoping for the report this afternoon.” Then he was given the report at afternoon through which he came to know about the injury. He was also told that it’d take at least one week to be normal and for safety probably ten days. So it’s almost sure that he is not going to play in the first test. But still he is hopeful.
Tamim expressed his hopefulness over phone, “Everything is depending on me and how fast I can get well. I will understand about my recovery within two or three days. You can say it’s a fifty-fifty chance. The rest is depending on the Almighty.”
Shakib is not playing in this series due to rest and now the dashing left hander batsmen Tamim who is on a good form in recent days, on who Bangladesh was relying on, probably will also not be playing in the first test due to his injury. This is undoubtedly a bad news for team Bangladesh if he doesn’t play.
