Tamim Iqbal, Taskin Ahmed and Abu Jayed Rahi have been recalled into the squad. Tamim missed home Test series against Zimbabwe and Windies due to injuries

Abu Jayed was left out of the latest series against Windies. He was impressive when Bangladesh toured the Caribbean last year. He has been doing well in the BPL as well for Chittagong Vikings.

Taskin have earned double-delight with call-ups to ODI and Test squads. He made his Test debut in New Zealand two years ago. His last Test outing was during the tour of South Africa in 2017.

Meanwhile, newcomers – off-spinner Nayeem Hasan and opener Shadman Islam have retained their places in the side. Nayeem grabbed a five-for against Windies on debut in Chattogram. In the next Test in Dhaka, Shadman hit 76 in his first innings to mark his debut.

Bangladesh will play a three-match Test series against New Zealand for the first time. The last time they took part in a three-match encounter was against Zimbabwe at home in 2014.

The first Test will be held at Seddon Park in Hamilton from February 28-March 4. The second Test will be at Wellington’s Basin Reserve from March 8-12. Christchurch will host the third and final Test from March 16-20.
