Tamim will score a triple century surely: Mominul
Bangladesh opener Tamim Iqbal returns in form after having a bad time. He plays his career best innings in first-class cricket today against Central Zone in the ongoing Bangladesh Cricket League (BCL).
He was unbeaten on 222 runs at the end of the day. Tamim played the innings at the Sher-E-Bangla Stadium in Mirpur on Saturday. He played 281 balls in the innings and hit 30 fours. East Zone finished the day at 395 runs for 2 wickets. His opening partner and East Zone captain Mominul Haque said Tamim could make a triple century tomorrow.
More than a decade ago, Rakibul Hasan scored a triple century in Bangladesh first-class cricket. He scored 313 runs. Except him, No other batsman hd a triple century in first class cricket.
Today Mominul saw the epic batting of Tamim from the other end. He also scored a century. Mominul scored 111 runs. They made a huge partnership of 296 runs against Central Zone.
Mominul told reporters at the end of the day that Tamim’s innings was warmly praised, and those who had seen from the front could tell how the innings was. “I would say it was outstanding. I want him to bat till the end. He should play till the declaration of the innings. Till then, he will surely score a triple century. I don’t go for personal goals. When it seems like enough runs for the team, it will be seen whether I declare or not.”
