Taskin, Afif among Bangladeshis picked for T10 2021


Six Bangladeshi players have been picked at the draft for Abu Dhabi T10 League 2021. Mosaddek Ahmed, Taskin Ahmed, Afif Hossain, Nasir Hossain, Muktar Ali and Mahedi Hasan make up the Bangladeshi contingent.

All-rounder Mosaddek was the first of the Bangladeshi players to be picked. He was enlisted in the category A. Maratha Arabians signed him in the third round of the category A (gold). Later, fast bowler Taskin and all-rounder Muktar Ali were drafted in by Maratha from category B and C.

Defending champions Maratha Arabians have Pakistani veteran Shoaib Malik as the icon player. Mohammad Hafeez is also in the team.

21-year-old young gun Afif was signed by Bangla Tigers, a team hailing from Bangladesh. Afif was in the category C. Nasir, also from category C, was picked by Pune Devils a while later.

Isuru Udana, the Sri Lankan pacer, is the icon of Bangla TIgers. The squad includes the likes of David Wiese and Mohammad Irfan. Pune Devils have a strong squad having Thisara Perera (icon), Mohammad Amir and Sam Billings.

The draft came to a conclusion with Bangla Tigers picking Mahedi as their 16th member in the squad.

The eight-team tournament will kick off on January 28. The final will be played on February 6. All the matches will be played at Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi.

Bangla Tigers, Delhi Bulls, Maratha Arabians and Northern Warriors are in Group A. The Group B includes Deccan Gladiators, Pune Devils, Qalandars and Team Abu Dhabi.
